Hello Friends,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank those who are sharing God's love to the people of San Carlos. We also thank you for keeping us in prayer.  The Lord has been opening doors for the ministry and we know that your support in prayer has helped move things tremendously.

Dec 2006

As the world celebrated the Christmas season with chaos and hurriedness, we are thankful to still see the opposite with people who remembered the true meaning of the season-- Jesus. At the reservation there were a number of opportunities that lead our team to remind people the joy of celebrating the birth of our Savior. One opportunity was during the annual light parade. The kids from the S.A.Y. GOD fellowship participated along with us to display our float titled, "Jesus is the Light of the World." Worshipping the Lord and sharing His gift throughout the parade route was such a thrill.

Another open door to share the gift of Jesus' birth was through door-to-door evangelism. We had the opportunity to minister and pray for families in San Carlos as well as hand out gifts to children.

Thanks to the team from Calvary Chapel New Mexico who brought donated gift boxes and for joining us. Thank you also to the team from the "Backyard Bible Club" in Chandler for the candies and tracts.

As the year comes to a close, please continue to keep us in prayer, and most importantly please pray for the people of San Carlos.

"A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." - (Prov 16:9)

The verse above greatly summarizes all that has happened since last month as God truly placed His hand upon our plans; one of which was during the annual Veteran's Day celebration in San Carlos. As the enemy tried to discourage us because it seemed like we were not getting the amount of people to participate with us this year, the Lord continued to give us the faith to carry on no matter what. Faithfulness was the key and total surrender to His perfect plans.

Not only did God provide the necessary help we needed by placing it in the hearts of two brothers from Calvary Chapel to help us, He also called on some of the kids from the S.A.Y. G.O.D. (San Carlos Apache Youth Group of Disciples) to support us for the Veteran's Day Parade. For the first time, it wasn't the "core" team who participated to deliver the message during the parade. This year, God opened the door for the youth from S.A.Y. G.O.D. to do the work for His glory. As we participated in the parade, one of the girls from the youth group worshipped the Lord and shared what S.A.Y. G.O.D. was all about. The other kids held banners and passed out candy. What a blessing it was to see them full of excitement knowing that they belonged to a group that knows Jesus Christ.

Please continue to pray for the youth, Shelter Care, and all the lost souls from San Carlos. Also, please pray for the weekly Bible studies and upcoming event for December. Thank you.

Oct 2006

It has been a roller coaster ride this whole month as we prepared for the 2nd Annual "Camp Gideon" at San Carlos. Through all the trials and persecution we have been going through, the Lord has been our Rock, our refuge and our tower of strength. Only He deserves the glory and praise for all that was accomplished this month.

The weekly Bible studies with S.A.Y. God (Youth Group) and at Shelter Care has continued to be blessed with more participation from those attending. The people are starting to open up, ask questions and even amaze us by remembering what they have been hearing from the Word.

"Camp Gideon" was held on October 28 and it taught the children to celebrate Jesus instead of Halloween. It was a blessed time with all the kids and parents who came to the event. Once again, the Lord showed us that His plans are definitely far better than we could imagine. Because of uncertainties the team was facing during the first weeks of the month, we were not able to do the "regular" pre-event preparations we used to do for several years now. The Lord did all the work as He went before us to place a calling on people's hearts to come to "Camp Gideon." Only through His power did people attend by word-of-mouth from a few of the teens from the Youth Study. It was an amazing experience! All the kids participated and were intently listening to the message. And through God's grace and divine appointment, several adults gave their lives to Christ that day.

We thank you for all the prayers and support you shared. We especially would like to thank all our brothers and sisters in Christ who donated candy for "Camp Gideon." Thank you very much to Anthony and Andre who have been there through thick and thin. Most of all, thank you Lord for the tremendous love and power you have shown us.

*** We will be updating the "Gallery" section soon to share photos and videos of "Camp Gideon" ***

Sept 2006

The Lord has blessed us with His provisions and perfect plans the past two months. The kids at San Carlos were provided with school items as our brothers and sisters in Christ donated school supplies for a Back-To-School Drive. The school supplies were handed door-to-door by the team last August just in time for the start of the schoolyear. This was an amazing experience because the families visited were able to be ministered to with God's hope and love-- which is more precious than the school supplies distributed to them. Thank you to all of you who particiated in this endeavor.

Another blessing is that a weekly Bible study has started for the youth of San Carlos. Please keep this in prayer. Several of the youth have given their lives to Christ, including one former gang leader. We pray that God's Word will continue to grow in their hearts.

We are currently planning "Camp Gideon" for October. This is an event that will celebrate Jesus, which gives the children an alternative to celebrating Halloween. Please also keep this in prayer.

We really thank God for allowing us to be apart of the VBS and SOUL FOOD Crusade this last July 1st. He really moved. We thank God for all the kids He brought to the VBS. We had kids from different parts of San Carlos participate. We used the vans as buses to bring in a few kids. We thank all the volunteers that came out to help. The Lord really put a great team together. I was blessed to see some young boys, who were known for being mischievous and destructive around the rez, attend and participate in the Bible studies and crafts.

The SOUL FOOD Crusade was a really blessed time. Many teens and young adults attended that would normally never set foot in church. When it came time for the Gospel message many were receptive and made decisions for Christ. We are doing a new believers follow up with the new believers and ask that you keep this in prayer.

Also on that day Joshua and Audyn did the Bible study with Shelter Care and a mormon mentioned in our June e-Newsletter renounced mormonism and gave her life to Christ. Praise God! God is really moving and doing a great work in San Carlos. We pray that He will raise up more laborers for the harvest.

There's been a lot exciting things happening here for the past two months. As the weather is starting to get hot in Arizona, so is the Lord's tremendous blessings and guidance.

God has opened the door for a weekly Bible Study at the Reservation. We meet at Shelter Care and it's a wonderful time of worship and fellowship. We're really getting to know most of the residents and it's always a blessing to see their faces light up when they hear the Word of God touch their hearts individually. One man who accepted the Lord last year has been blessed by the Word of God. He continues to read the Bible and he shares with us the blessings he's learning from God. We also continue to pray for a couple of residents who are part of the mormon religion BUT they still come to the Bible study and we know that the Word will plant seeds in their hearts.

As far as the kids from the Youth Home, most of them whom we've known for the past two years have been placed in foster homes. Although it is sad to see them go and we really miss their hugs and smiles, we know that they are better off being with families.

During the Memorial Day weekend, the group took the Sherman Indian HS kids to the beach in Bolsa, CA. It was a blessing to have fun with the kids and have Tony share the Word.

We just released a new e-newletter. This newsletter is being distributed to everyone in our subscribers mail group. If you haven't signed up yet please do so on our 'home' page to receive more in-depth information and updates.

It was such a blessing to watch the teams from Calvary Chapel Golden Springs and Calvary Chapel Chandler serve together to bring glory to the Lord in the community of Bylas, which is a district of the San Carlos Apache Reservation. April 8 was a day to serve and minister, and have fellowship with brethren.

The team participated in a parade honoring the ‘Warriors of the Past and Present.' Our float was to honor our hero, Jesus Christ. A plumbing truck served as the basis of our ‘float' with banners emphasizing the Lord's power. Some team members were singing praises while others marched alongside handing out candy, fliers and tracks to the people watching. (see gallery for pictures)

After the parade, the team was served authentic Apache food for lunch. It was an amazing time to bond with the person who cooked our meal. He encouraged us to continue reaching out to the Apaches because there is a great need for people to know the Savior, Jesus Christ.

We spent the afternoon ministering to the kids by having an outreach called, ‘Gideon's Bible Adventure Camp'. The kids were taught the real meaning of Easter through a puppet show. They also learned about the miracles of Jesus, His death and resurrection, and salvation through Him while listening to stories and having fun with balloon animals and face painting. Several kids gave their lives to Christ during the event.

During the whole event, the Lord blessed us with an amazing surprise. Unbeknownst to us, the floats during the parade were being judged. To our amazement, the float we had honoring Jesus won first place in the Gospel category! Needless to say, when you give glory to God, He will honor it.

This was a blessed night. The Lord really moved. Sherman Indian HS kids went to the SR-1 at Calvary Chapel GS. They got to see Tree63 and hear the Gospel message. 7 of the 9 Sherman kids that went made decisions for Christ! Praise the Lord! Continue to keep the Sherman Indian HS kids and outreach in your prayers.

A Christian plumber came along to help with some of the plumbing needs at the Youth Home. We had a neat Bible Study by flash light at Shelter Care because the electricity went out. The Word was our light that evening.

Feb 11, 2006

The team from Calvary Chapel Golden Springs came.  It's always great to co-labor with them and have time to fellowship. This time, we also had a team from Calvary Chapel Chandler (AZ) join us.  It was wonderful to have two groups working together as one body in Christ.  The Lord never seizes to amaze us when we look back and think about what took place in every outreach we've done.  This past work trip was no exception.  We want to share with you some of the things that happened during this trip that once again showed God's perfect plan.

The supervisor at the Youth Center asked us to help paint their facility.  The painting job was a miracle in itself.  First, we didn't know that one of the new people who came with the CCGS group has done professional painting.  So, needless to say, his knowledge on how to split up the team and how to cover ground efficiently was a blessing.  The job was done the best way to bless the Youth Center-- without taking any shortcuts.  God knew we needed him at this particular trip.  And even when this brother was going through a family crisis (which we didn't know until the end of the day) he chose to serve the Lord.  Second, we never thought we could paint the living room, kitchen, and office with the amount of paint we had.  Around 3:30pm, the rooms were not even halfway done and we were down to the last gallon of paint.  We had to share buckets and trays, even scrape as much paint as we can to finish the first coat in all the rooms.  This reminded us of the story where Jesus multiplied the two fishes and five loaves.  We lifted the situation in prayer and God answered.

Another awesome blessing we experienced was when part of the team went out to pass out fliers for a movie night/message that evening.  During the afternoon, we met with the lady in charge of opening the doors to the Boys & Girls Club where the outreach was going to be held.  She forgot to call me the day before to let me know that the Boys and Girls Club projector we usually use was not going to be available.  Somebody borrowed it and there was no way we could pick it up in time because the person lived about 70 miles away.  So, as we were getting worried about the whole situation and asked the team to keep things in prayer, the Lord guided us to go back to the Tribal Council Vice Chairman's wife whom we met by chance earlier.  We asked her if we could borrow the Tribal Council's projector.  She went out of her way to escort us to the Librarian Director's house who is in charge of the projector.  If we were three minutes later we would've missed her because she was on her way to a fishing trip.  She was defiant at first but the Lord softened her heart and we had favor in her eyes.  She went into town to open the Library and lent us the projector just in time to set up. This was an awesome miracle because there are no electronic shops that would carry this equipment on or anywhere near the rez. We just got ourselves in position for the battle by faith and the battle belonged to the Lord.

After the Gospel was shared at the end of the movie, two people gave their lives to the Lord. One of who accepted Christ gave me the contact for the Junior High School Recreation Coordinator because she said that the movie shown must be played for the kids there.  So, another open door was given to us by the Lord to minister to the entire San Carlos Junior High School .

Jan, 2006

In January, we continued to visit the Reservation to meet with the kids at the Youth Center and the elderly at Shelter Care.  Please keep them in prayer.

Dec 18 , 2005

December was a wonderful month.  We thank God for all the toy donations from Operation Christmas Child and all the workers He supplied. Pastor Jay and 13 of his Junior High students, along with the core team from the Evangelism Ministry, came to AZ to help us celebrate the real meaning of Christmas in the San Carlos Indian Reservation.  Some games from CCGS's Camp Jubilee were transported by the team and it was a delight for the kids at the Reservation. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
